Packages

60-minute Introduction/Intake $0
Begin with an introduction to Greif Coaching or Life Coaching (whichever you feel you need). Decide what your goal is from receiving coaching. Briefly review past and current coping tools, past and current traumas, and current support system. If you choose, book your first session and fill out necessary forms.

Emergency Session $0
These sessions are for when you are in immediate need to talk to someone and just be heard and validated. While you need to contact me ahead of time to set this up, it can be ready within an hour or less. These sessions can be done through text, phone call, email, or even video call, making it accessible when you absolutely need it. You don’t have to be alone in your thoughts and emotions. Whether you need to just write it all out like a journal entry but feel that someone needs to read it and validate it, or you need to cry, yell or scream, I am here. These sessions do not have to follow my posted hours of availability which means they are available 7 days per week, within decent hours of the day.

1 Session At-A-Time $75
For those who feel they need a longer-term guidance, booking one session at a time is sometimes the best choice. Sessions do not have to be on a weekly or even monthly basis – think of it as “come as you need”. Sessions follow a regular structure but are built on what you need for that session: goal planning, venting, connection, ritual building, etc. Each session serves you as you need it.
*Client receives a Welcome Package that includes a journal, pen, and worksheets.

Emotional Release Session $30 – $100
These sessions are unique to your immediate emotional needs. Some teens simply need a safe space to release some anger, tears, or frustrations in a structured way. Others may need some kind of physical, hands-on work to help them process their emotions quietly. No matter what you are needing, I offer versatile, flexible sessions. Cost is based on the need/activity. Some common activities include baking, gardening, yard work, building something, aggressive painting, smashing items, or simply being in a private space to scream. Cost of these activities goes towards providing materials/transportation needed, and will always be quoted before the session when booked in advance. Cost of these sessions will not exceed $100 but begins at a base price of $30.

2 Session Intro $140
Dig deep into your goal from receiving coaching and make a plan to meet your goal, including any coping tools that might help.

6 Session Exploration $430

*Client receives a Welcome Package that includes a journal, pen, and worksheets.

10 Session Journey $700
Dive into your goal from receiving coaching and create a plan to meet your goal; explore coping tools, personal ritual ideas, and self-care strategies; then create a daily routine that will honour your journey to your goal – from wake up time to bedtime, discover yourself and navigate your personal narrative.
*Client receives a Welcome Package that includes a journal, pen, and worksheets.

For two hours, focus on your main goal and create a vision board that will help you see your path through. Beginning with a group welcoming and introduction to Greif Coaching or Life Coaching, move into a supportive and nonjudgmental group conversation, leading into creating your vision board, and ending with a group closing. *Ages 14-19, 4-10 participants, all materials are provided

What is Rocky Connections?

Teenagers have a lot of big life choices on their shoulders. From getting their first job, to choosing the right secondary courses for high school, to choosing a career path, to how to achieve their goal career, to navigating social groups, and everything in between. Teenager’s bodies are also going through a lot of big changes during these years with puberty and hormones, along with identity changes with figuring out who they are, where their place is in this world, and how they want to look. The teen years aren’t easy.

Then add loss of a loved one. A teenager navigating life is already stressed. When they lose a loved one such as a friend, sibling, parent, teacher, or family member, navigating life’s normal choices and changes can become even harder. Navigating grief of a loved one isn’t easy for anyone but for a teenager, it can be one of the hardest challenges in life and can reshape everything around them. Loss can make even the most social teenager isolate and feel alone.

This is where Rocky Connections comes in. Whether needing a safe adult to vent to, advice from someone other than your parent, or learning coping skills for grief, Rocky Connections is here.

If your child between the ages of 6 years and 13 years has recently lost a loved one and you are noticing some concerns, Rocky Connections also offers Grief Coaching for them. For the younger ages, I offer connection through play, crafting, outdoors, reading books, exploring feelings and emotions, and gentle age-appropriate conversation. I meet at the child’s home for the first few sessions to help establish a safe bond, then I can continue meeting at the child’s home or explore a nearby playground/outdoor space.

For teenagers, I offer connection through gentle conversation that the teen leads. Sessions can be simply chatting at a table in the teen’s home, or we can explore interests such as walking a local nature path, fishing a local spot, crafting, etc. I am open to many different experience-based sessions depending on the teen’s preference, interests, and parental feelings of safety.

How It Starts

When a new client reaches out, I begin with a free 60minute introduction/consultation. I meet the client where they are comfortable and talk about what I offer as well as what the client is looking for. I go through an intake process that introduces everything I offer and how my services work, as well as any goals that the client has. If the client is confident in our connection, I can book the first session. There is no pressure to book a session right away, I get it, it can feel scary sometimes. After the initial meeting, I can book right away or wait to hear back from you – the choice is yours.

All sessions are completely confidential between myelf (Grief Coach) and client, unless there are concerns of suicidal thoughts/actions, hurting others, complex mental health disorders.

What is Greif Coaching? How is it different from Counseling or Therapy?

Counseling and Therapy are very helpful services for those who need them or feel more comfortable with a licensed mental health practitioner who will look at the client’s past and present, and have the authority to offer prescriptions if needed. Counseling and/or therapy is needed when grief is all encompassing and you cannot move forward, you have suicidal thoughts, you are injuring yourself, you want to injure others, or you have complex mental health disorders. Grief Coaching is different.

Grief Coaching is future-based. While I may ask a few questions about your past to better understand your comfort levels and current understanding of coping skills, I focus on the present and future, and how to carry your grief with you as part of you, not encompassing you. My goal is to help you honour your loved one in ways that feel sacred and special to you, and learn skills that will help you cope when grief feels too heavy. I cannot offer prescriptions or any other regulated services from counseling or therapy (i.e. EMDR, diagnosing, CPT, etc.) If I feel that you are in need of these services and I cannot help you until these services are sought out, I will be completely open and let you know this.

What is Life Coaching for Teens?

My offering of Life Coaching for Teens is quite simple: navigate those big decisions with a safe adult by your side, while learning some coping skills and goal setting when anxiety or stress become heavy. I also have a large network to tap into if you are unsure of how to get to where you want to be (college course, apprenticeship, specific career, resume building, job interview practice, etc.) We all go through these big life decisions, sometimes we just need someone on the outside, without any judgement, to talk through it with us.

Life Coaching sessions can be mapping out a process visually at a dining room table, visiting job fairs, or taking a walk together to get out of your head and talk it through. I work at your pace and with what you feel you need to tackle that day.

“We all deserve to feel safe, heard, understood, and connected.”

Who Do I See in My Sessions?

Jessica Ford
Grief Coach, Life Coach, RECE

After losing our 16 year old daughter in a motor vehicle accident on her way home from a school softball tournament, I decided I couldn’t turn away from her siblings, friends, and others who loved her. Helping the teenagers and youth in our community learn to cope was just as healing for me as it was for them. This pushed me to look into what I can do, as a parent and as a member of a community suffering collective grief. I saw a need in our local youth and felt a calling to step up.

While Greif Coaching and Life Coaching do not require licenses in Ontario, I truly believe in having an educational background when offering a professional service. Leading with my Early Childhood Educational background, experience as an Educational Assistant, expertise in Outdoor Education and its benefits, and new certification in Grief Coaching and Life Coaching, I am setting out to help our local youth and teens navigate their grief journey after the loss of a loved one as well as help guide them through difficult life choices. Using my own childhood experiences, experience as a mom of three, the experience of the loss of our daughter, and my honest curiosity of all things, I offer teens guidance through active listening, compassion, understanding, and feeling safe and secure. I hold absolutely no judgement and I have an open mind for expression. Let’s work together to find your path.
