Student Shed

Our Student Shed is located at Foundation Headquarters in Elmwood. The shed is full of different athletic and trades items for students in need. There are work boots, running shoes, cleats, practice jerseys, backpacks, duffel bags, sports equipment, some tools, and more.
This shed is for breaking down barriers – no student should have to be left out because they can’t afford something needed to play on a sports team, no student should have to choose a class or co-op they aren’t truly interested in because they can’t afford necessary safe footwear. We attempt to break down these barriers as much as we can, making sure our local youth have the things they need to succeed.
We are also currently expanding the shed to include a Textbook Library that will hold textbooks for any post-secondary course – college, university, or apprenticeship. This will help to further break down barriers for our local youth by helping them save money during a time that is incredibly expensive. The Textbook Library will work like a regular library – books go out on a loan system. Students will sign out the books they need for the time period they need them, then return them for another student to use. We will have a system set up for collecting loan information to make sure the books are returned when they are not in use.
We accept donations for the Student Shed year round. If you have anything from the list below that you would like to downsize, we will happily take it off your hands!

Student in Need

There are no “qualifications”, no hoops to jump through, no proving family income – if you need something for athletics or trades, or would like to see if we have textbooks for your post-secondary education, you are welcome here. If you cannot get to Elmwood, let us know and we will try to arrange delivery to you.
Fill out the form below to set up a shop in the shed. Your information is kept completely confidential and will never be shared with anyone. It is simply used for our own Foundation tracking and financials. If you would like to be photographed and featured on our socials, you are welcome to ask – otherwise you will not be.
While we can’t promise to have everything you need, we will do our best to meet your needs as much as possible.
